UrbanPlan
UrbanPlan is a realistic, engaging, and academically demanding classroom-based curriculum in which students learn about the fundamental forces that affect land development.
Welcome to UrbanPlan in France
Inspiring real estate’s future
UrbanPlan is a dynamic enrichment programme — a serious game — that encourages students to fully immerse themselves in the complex decision-making process that shapes the urban and built environment. It encourages them to take an active, project-based role, develop teamwork skills, and act as engaged citizens working towards the creation of better and more sustainable communities.
An educational initiative developed by the Urban Land Institute, UrbanPlan has been running successfully in high schools in the US for over 15 years – reaching over 43,000 students and enabling more than 1,500 ULI members to share their experiences in land use. It brings the urban environment to life for young people through a series of interactive workshops and team working challenges.
Europe
Inspiring over 10,000 students into the built environment since 2014. UrbanPlan is ULI Europe’s education programme which helps young people understand the role real estate plays in regenerating urban areas.
The one-day workshops raise interest for the built environment as a potential employment opportunity, helping to create a more diverse, inclusive industry. The workshop is a realistic and academically demanding programme in which students learn about the forces that affect urban regeneration. It aims to inspire students to take an active role as engaged and informed citizens, helping them to create better and more sustainable communities.
France
As part of ULI’s mission to shape the future of our urban and real estate environment with the aim of positively transforming communities, ULI France is committed to engaging young people through its UrbanPlan programme. Participating in this programme contributes to improving the real estate industry and helps strengthen both citizenship and employability among young people.
After the success of the two pilot programmes in 2022–2023 (in English and French), the programme is now being rolled out in France annualy.
Since 2023, ULI France has delivered more than 20 UrbanPlan sessions, mainly in public high schools located in priority neighbourhoods in Bobigny, La Courneuve (93) and Épinay-sur-Seine (93). As of March 2025, the UrbanPlan sessions include:

Support this initiative
Your support makes a huge impact. Our programme’s success has been down to the incredible support and sponsorship from our generous members and funders.
The impact UrbanPlan continues to have on students is truly remarkable. Your support to fund more workshops means that we can inspire more students across Europe to consider a career in the built environment.
As an individual or a company, you can support us either through a donation (I make a donation*) or through standard sponsorship, in which case you can contact Melanie Charpentier.
